I'm Emma Lovelock, a pilates instructor, owner of The Pilates Corner, an Award Winning Studio in Hertfordshire, UK and I've been where you are. A studio owner that is rushed off their feet running a business that no-one has taught them how to do. Struggling through the day to day tasks of being a studio owner but doing nothing about growing or improving the business side of things.
In 2024 I launched my Mentoring business The Pilates Corner Academy with my intention being to mentor as many wellness studios to grow their businesses using the knowledge and tools I have gained over the last decade through courses and workshops designed specifically for the wellness industry.
It's funny, as instructors we spend so many years learning our discipline and mastering our technique, but when it comes to running a business there's a lot of guess work going on. Most of us don't become instructors with the intention of running a studio, we do it because we love it and we want to share our love for it with others. Therefore we just kind of do what we think we need to do and hope for the best.
However when you find yourself with a studio that just isn't bringing you the kind of income you were hoping for when you first imagined opening the doors, it can be frustrating and the fun side of teaching gets overpowered by the stress of being a studio owner.
As an instructor that has had previous experience in sales and marketing and running other businesses, plus the additional skills and knowledge I've gained from working with business coaches. I'm now on a mission to help as many other studio owners get their businesses to the best they can be.
What is The Academy?
The Academy is a student-led course, that is broken into manageable chunks to avoid overwhelm.
It's delivered in a specific order to make sure you do everything that needs to be done correctly without missing out the steps you 'don't want to do!' (there are some bits of business that are less fun than others but shouldn't be avoided).
The course takes you on a journey to improving your business one step at a time. Just the same way I did when I was first growing my business and all the things I have tried that worked since.
The course is accompanied by weekly group zoom calls where you can ask for help, get advice, feedback and listen to others work through their difficulties.
It took me three years to accomplish everything in the course, however you can work through it at your own pace taking as long or as little time as you need to accomplish each stage.
There is no minimum time you must stay in The Academy nor a maximum. It's a monthly subscription which can be cancelled at any time.
